Weekly Calendar - October 7-11, 2024
Students who participated in the Cinnamon Roll fundraiser were treated to a fun-filled day at Rowe Crop Farm. Our senior Cadet Teachers joined us as well. It was a beautiful day and a we all had a great time!
The second grade students have been studying properties of materials. Last week, each student made a boat using only notebook paper and masking tape. The goal was to see how many pennies their boat could hold before sinking. It was a close race, but Maggie's boat held the most at 132 pennies.
Today we talked about what made Maggie's boat better and how we could make an even better boat. The students decided that we needed it to be thicker and more water resistant. Therefore, each student colored a sheet of paper front and back with crayons since crayons are made of wax and wax repels water. Then they put their pieces together and used A LOT of masking tape! We used every penny we had (206) and our new and better boat held those pennies for an hour and a half before sinking! Great job second grade!

It's cinnamon roll delivery day!! Thank you for all your support to make this such an amazing fundraiser!! We sold 723 items!! Lucille Hubbs was our top seller with 53 items and 5th grade was the top selling class with 141 items. Great job!!
The BRL volleyball tournament starts today at Lesterville. Our girls are scheduled to play at 6pm, but all times are approximate and games will start as soon as the previous game is over.

The baseball game scheduled for today vs Clearwater has been cancelled. There will be baseball practice after school until 4:30pm in the old gym.
